Abstract
Sudden increase in production of opium in Afghanistan which occurred after the arrival of coalition forces fighting against terrorism and maintaining the production on a very high level until today does not allow Washington to claim that its war against terror has been successful. If it is true that substantial financial support is one of the pillars of terrorist organizations and that the money from drugs, according to the estimates of Bin Laden's pursuers in Afghanistan, is a significant financial resource for his terrorist activities, the fact that this kind of trade is still flourishing necessarily leads to the conclusion that countries which take part in the mission led by the US are not capable of stopping it, or that it is against the interests of some people whose influence on the mission is very strong.
